CN-235

The Lowest Cost Tactical Airlifter

The CN235 has earned its reputation for mission versatility, minimal support requirements and reliable operation in a full range of environments and at low operating costs.

More than 250 of these aircraft have been sold worldwide, performing over 1 million cycles in some of the most demanding conditions.

The CN235’s large cabin accommodates up to 36 paratroopers, or can be configured for maritime patrol and surveillance operations with mission consoles, bubble observation windows and a rest area. For medical evacuation missions, the aircraft accommodates up to 18 stretchers, with four attendants.

Its rear ramp can be opened in flight for the airdrop of equipment, and also facilitates the easy loading of mission pallets, along with bulky cargo, standard 88 x 108-inch pallets, light vehicles and aircraft engines. For aerial cargo delivery missions, up to 6,000 kg. can be delivered in a single pass.

The CN235 has excellent handling qualities and manoeuvrability, with fast engine response from its two General Electric CT7-9C turboprop powerplants.
The Most Experienced Light/Medium Tactical Transport
The CN235 is the undisputed leader in the light / medium Tactical aircraft segment: today. More than 250 units are in service with military and government operators in 26 countries.
This fleet has accumulated more than one million flight hours in all types of environmental conditions from the African desert to the Poles, performing a wide range of missions including deployment and logistic support of Peace Keeping Forces and in relief operations in natural disasters.

Multirole Capability
Its wide, unobstructed cargo cabin equipped with reinforced heavy duty floors and a ramp which can be opened in flight ensure the CN235 truly matches the “one aircraft for many missions” concept. The internal configuration of the cabin can be quickly changed with minimum tools and manpower requirements to suit the operational needs as cargo transport (palletised or bulk), personnel transport, medical evacuation, paratrooping, or any type of aerial delivery procedure.

Superior Mission Flexibility
In addition to the cargo cabin flexibility the CN235 is highly developed to handle all types of operations.
The aircraft has been certified to the most demanding civil and military standards. The operational features such as STOL and soft field capability (up to 200 passes in CBR 4) or Aerial Cargo Delivery are documented, certified and proven (up to 6000 kg can be delivered in a single pass).
The Cargo Handling System with its four-row roller conveyor system is compatible with 463L standard military pallets to make the CN235 the perfect complement to other transport aircraft like the C-130 Hercules or the CH-47 Chinook helicopter: cargo pallets can be directly transferred with a minimum reconfiguration.
Additionally the CN235 was designed to have the minimum maintenance and support requirements and to operate in austere environments for extended periods of time without the need for ground support equipment.

Lowest Operational Cost
Through careful structural and systems design and the selection of the General Electric CT7-9C3 the engine with the lowest fuel consumption in its class -and the development of a simple, effective and flexible Maintenance Plan, the CN235 is the aircraft with the lowest operational cost in its category.
Proven and superior mission flexibility at the lowest operational cost ensure that the CN235 fulfils the most demanding requirements of any military / government operator.
